Veterans History Project: Be a Part of History The purpose of the nationwide Veterans History Project is to amass and preserve the remembrances of American war veterans and civilian workers who supported them. These accounts of first-hand experiences are archived in the American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress to honor the service of our veterans and to share their stories with current and future generations. Volunteers for the Project interview veterans who served in World War I, World War II, the Cold War, Korean War, Vietnam War, Persian Gulf War (1990-1995), or Afghanistan and Iraq conflicts (2001-present). U.S. citizen civilians who actively supported war efforts (such as war industry workers, USO workers, flight instructors, medical volunteers, defense contractors, etc.) are also questioned to collect their valuable stories. Tempe Connections is the local administrator of the Project. Veterans and volunteers can sign up to be interviewed or be interviewers by visiting the Tempe Connections VHP site.
