Transition Talks Registration

There is no cost for our Transition Talks, however, you must reserve space, by calling 480-350-5494 or click on the "Sign Up Now" button below the list of classes. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. Maximum class size is limited to 22 students. Minimum class size is 10.

Each course will meet for four 90-minute classes over four weeks in the Tempe Connections meeting room next to the Connections Café on the Main Floor of the Tempe Public Library.

Health and Wellness
Instructor: Dr. Barbara Ezrre

Lectures presented by Dr. Barbara Ezrre, a physician with Naturopathic Family Healthcare in Tempe.  Dr. Ezrre is also adjunct faculty at Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine and provides medical care at the Sojourner Center, a domestic violence shelter for women and children.

January 20, 2011, 10:30 pm-12 noon, "Food as Medicine"

As something that goes into our bodies every day, food can either be our poison or our medicine.  Learn 10 foods that are a must-have in your diet!  Participants will learn why these are considered "Superfoods" and the impact they have on the body to increase longevity and vitality.

February 17, 10:30 pm-12 noon, "Secrets to Keeping Your Brain Fit & Young"

If you are tired of forgetting where you left your keys last or the name of the person that you just met, then you can't miss this lecture!   Learn easy, natural ways to keep your brain sharp.  Participants in this discussion will gain knowledge of nutrients that are vital for brain health as well as easy mental and physical exercises to maintain healthy function.

10:30 pm-12 noon, "Aging and Hormones"

Are you or your spouse having mood changes that are reminiscent of your teenage years?  As we age, our body's ability to produce hormones declines.  Consequently, women and men can experience changes in mood, libido, memory, energy, sleep and much more.  Find out how you can help balance your hormones and feel better!

April 21,
10:30 pm-12 noon, "What the Heck is Gluten-Free and Why Am I Seeing It Everywhere?!?"

Have you walked through the grocery store lately and wondered what is gluten and why are more brands touting gluten-free varieties? Participants in this class will learn how gluten affects the body and how to recognize the signs and symptoms of gluten intolerance.
